How it all started
Fence Masters® is a Miami fence company that started in 1947 as a dream between two friends, Oliver Troutman and Don Ernst, as a way to support their young families. With only a very used truck, a handful of tools, and a will to succeed, Fence Masters® has evolved from an idea formed at the kitchen table into one of South Florida’s oldest and largest fence companies.

3rd Generation Business
Fence Masters® is a Miami fence company that was born in 1947 as the dream of two friends, Oliver Troutman and Don Ernst. Both wanted a way to support their young families and saw creating a fence installation and repair business as a way to do just that. When Don passed away in the late 1970s, his son, Steve Ernst took the reins of the family business. Steve had learned the trade from his father, spending summers erecting fences and learning the trade from the ground up. Under Steve’s leadership, Fence Masters® has grown to become a well-known and respected provider of fence services throughout Miami and the surrounding areas.
Today, Fence Masters® continues to be operated employing the 3rd generation of family, with Steve’s daughter and her husband overseeing many aspects of daily operations.
